The Song That Stole My Forlorn Soul
Rev. Lainie Dowell
(Received Sunday, July 3, 2011 10:33 P.M.)
It started when a wisp of spring floated across my brow
My spirit lifted with the wind
Spring called, I'll show you how.
One melodious sound --
I marvelled
The breeze called, Draw near.
For, in the midst of present tunes,
There is a tune you need to hear.
Come fly.
Let us talk.
But, then, you must be still.
There is sweetness in store
When you do the Master's will.
Whispers ever oh so slight
Gather to join us on this flight.
A song unknown to common man
was penned so long ago
by the Master's Hand
The song that stole my forlorn soul
set me free and made me whole
It gave my life a brand new start
and brought new meaning to my heart

Only One Leaf Left To Do Right In God's Sight

By Rev. Lainie Dowell
What will God do with one lone leaf
left on a branch of a dead tree and hanging low
but unreachable and in plain view
for all to see?
That leaf flies high and out of reach.
But for all who stop to see --
it shall teach.
God has mercy on a leaf that flies high.
And to keep out of reach, it touches the sky.
For all the other leaves that had fallen from the branch
had reached out too far and fell into a deep trance.
They had come under the spell of the tree
that they thought to be bigger than Me.
For that tree was all they could see.
I sent a bird to fly up there
to let them know soon that tree would be bare.
Alas, they heard My bird give My Word
but they just did not care.
Then, when Mine own lips began to blow,
the leaves hung fast but they had to go.
One by one and then oh so many more
soon found themselves lying upon
the earth's floor.
Sure enough the tree was bare
except for one lone leaf that remained hanging there.
The branches marvelled and to their shame,
they boasted in themselves and blasphemed
Jesus name.
Once covered in splendor, they now stood
disrobed
to stand before God's glory.
And there also stood but one leaf alone
left hanging there to tell the story.
One leaf among many hanging upon a branch
one tree does not make.
For only God can take one leaf and
many branches awake.

Wintry Scenes Unfold

Revive us Oh Lord God.
Winter is harsh and dreer.
Washed with undercoats of snow.
Wet from crystals falling on earth.
Whether sun shines or whether winds blow.
Whether rain comes and the wintry night Remains --
God will keep us!
Beyond stark scenes of trees
Whose leaves are blown away
Where branches cause the trees to
Follow the wind.
March winds and April snows
Cleanse the earth.
Whisper it in the air
And it sails along unencumbered.
Winter forms the following scenes --
The heart that loves the warmth of summer.
The feet that can withstand cold.
The face with stalwart-ness to face the blinding snows of life.
The hands that have learned the secret of keeping warm by the fire.
The voice that is quieted by a sip of tea and honey.
The fullest of ever realm of The Holy Spirit.
The revival of God's handpicked.
The souls that delight themselves in Me, saith the Lord.
They shall be lifted at the hour of My appearing and tell it --
Cast it to the winds.
Cast it to the seas.
Cast it to the heavens above.
Cast it to the earth below.

MINT GREEN WHISPERS OF SUMMER AIR

Mint green whispers of summer air fill the spaces that left
me a long time ago with the winter winds.
And, when my ear turned to listen to the whispering breezes,
a kiss lightly touched my lobe and moved swiftly along.
Before it left, where it landed, there remained the imprint
of summer branches before fall.
Melancholia draped the air all around me where once
summer leaves were hanging there.
Mint green whispers of summer air, please come to me
again, when the trees are bare.
Have you gotten to the point when a sniff in the air and a
breeze brushed by almost unnoticed - not just any old
breeze, but one with a special whiff?!
And has it ever taken you back to a place in time that you
had forgotten ever existed?
Like in childhood?
And as in school days?
To a time when life was forward looking and filled
with wondering about what life would bring
and how long it would take to receive it?

GO TO THE WIND AND LISTEN

Go to the Wind and listen, for if you listen there,
the breath of the forest shall speak with you
and he shall whisper all the lost echoes of
days long past, when trees were lush and green
and the leaves refused to fall until the earth
called up to them --- It is time
Once again time and season both respond --
Yes, Fall leaves
make way for new growth
for time awaits
and season changes its ways
and the trees creak and groan
and fall asleep until the sun
returns to its place once more
in time
How lovely the ocean waves and
peacefully wanders through endless
valleys and vales where rivers and streams
converge and lakes emerge anew
All without so much as a ripple in
the timeless days of wonder
And, in awe, fulfillment of promises
made long ago at the edge of life
begin to take shape and come forth
The breath of the forest knows
oh how well each creature that
scampers and scurries about on
its way upon the mossy banks
and scale the mountain that
overlooks all of it even spread out
across distant lands full of high
boulders and hidden places

DRIFTING WHISPERS
Lord, What is a whisper?
The whisper is a sound.
At the moment you hear it and turn to look around
it is all too late
for that sound has moved on into the air.
Would you like to hear it?
Yes, Lord!
The moment the whisper has reached your ear,
it's job is done.
It tugs at your heart like a little child tugs
at your skirttails.
It takes hold and won't let go until you take it up
to your breast and hold it close.
It is where your ears meet up with My mouth.
In that moment.
In that one moment.
In that precious moment is when we meet in
Spirit and commune one with another.
Then ---
Forever the sound of a whisper drifts into your mind
and releases a sound in season
forever.
Then ---
We, We, We, Meet in the moment
where whispers drift.

Listen To The Wind, Children

Deep Meditations
Strolling Hearts of Song ~
Softly riding aloft in mid air.
Trolling streams of calmness there and everywhere.
Filtered clouds of glorious peace belong
To those with strolling hearts of song.
O Lord, Thou Alone Art Wise ~
Misty, teary emission falls.
Spilling over earthly horizons on to heavenly walls.
Wet eyes peering above heavenly skies -
Appealing to the Master, who alone is wise.
O Lord, Thou alone art wise!
Now be Ye Made Whole In Jesus's Name ~
Where once theirs was a wretched soul -
A grinded soul is now made whole.
With but one glance from God's eyes,
Sickness shrivels up, blows away, and dies.
Now be ye made whole in Jesus's name,
Who dries your weeping eyes of shame.
Listen to the Wind, children,
Wherever you may roam.
Let it be made known to one and all.
When you stop to listen and hear His call,
He will guide you safely home.
